This is a free lecture and is open to the public. The lectures are geared towards researchers, clinicians, students and hospital staff.

Dr. Paula Braitstein is an epidemiologist living and working in Kenya. Originally from Montreal, Paula’s roots are in the community-based HIV/AIDS movement in Canada as an HIV treatment educator and activist. In Kenya since 2007, Paula’s major research, education and service priorities have been oriented around major health and social issues in East Africa including HIV prevention and treatment, high HIV risk children and youth including those who have been orphaned (from HIV and other causes), separated, abandoned, and those who are street-connected.

Our work serves clients and communities across British Columbia on lands and waters cared for and nurtured by the many distinct First Nations across the province. The BC-CfE humbly and gratefully acknowledge the stewards of these lands, particularly the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) on whose unceded, traditional and ancestral territories our offices are located.
