Interview with Dr. Rolando Barrios and Irene Day

HIV continues to be a major global public health issue. Since 2000, 38.1 million people have become infected with HIV and 25.3 million people have died of AIDS-related illnesses.

However, in the twenty-first century we have a means of treatment and prevention methods.

The HIV Foundation Queensland Prevention team are on the road, touring around Queensland and discussing the latest HIV prevention and treatment knowledge to regional areas.

Sarah spoke with a few of these touring experts on the program this evening.

Dr Andrew Redmond is an Infectious Disease Physician at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Associate Professor James Ward is the Head of Infectious Diseases Research Program-Aboriginal Health at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, and Dr Rolando Barrios and Irene Day are visiting Queensland from the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.
